Review: Lush Rose Jam Bubbleroon

Rose Jam is my favorite Lush scent and how I wish I had stocked up on the shower gel during the last holiday season! The similarly scented Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner [Review Here] is also something that I really enjoy using and today I want to share my thoughts on the Bubbleroon from the Rose Jam line.

Review: Maybelline Color Sensational Color Elixir (Mauve Mystique)

I have been checking out these Maybelline Color Sensational Color Elixirs since they launched in stores around October of last year. As this line of lip colors was due to become part of Maybelline's permanent collection, I delayed my purchase for almost 3 months. I finally picked up the shade Mauve Mystique earlier this month and today I want to share my thoughts.

NOTD: OPI Tease-y Does It

I was gifted with this bottle of Tease-y Does It from OPI 2010 Burlesque collection a few years back. Today I want to share my manicure featuring this color that started off the new year.
This is two coats topped with a coat of Sinful Colors Pink 4 Ever on my accent nail. I find the formula to be a bit streaky, but still able to achieve opacity with enough coats. Aside from the slight tip wear, this polish lasted in almost mint condition through the one week mark.

This deep plum chocolate color with warm shimmers is one of my favorite dark nail polish to wear.
What have you been wearing on your nails lately?

Jane Austen and Bath

2013 marked the 200th anniversary of the first publication of Pride and Prejudice and after I visited the Jane Austen Center in Bath last summer, I wanted to finish all 6 of her novels before the end of the year. I managed to fulfill this commitment during the last week of 2013 and today I want to revisit my trip to Bath.

I was staying at the Club Quarters at Lincoln's Inn Fields. Although the room was small, this hotel's clever use of space made my visit very comfortable. I really appreciate the complimentary wifi and the proximity to Covent Garden cannot be beat.

After breakfast at Paul with very bitter coffee and a ham and cheese croissant, I headed to London Paddington to catch my train to Bath Spa. An hour and half later, I have arrived in Bath! Take a look at this thousands year old hot spring, the Roman Baths.

Review: Smashbox Wondervision Eye Set (Flash)

When Smashbox released these Wondervision Eye Sets for the holiday season, I kept debating whether the Flash set would be worth the $32 price tag. When these sets were reduced to $24 and I was able to apply an additional 20% off, I couldn't pass up on trying the three items for under $20.

Calendar and Planner Ready for 2014!

While I always have a planner year after year, this is the first time that I picked up a desktop day-to-day calendar. After moving from Montreal to the UK, I realized just how much my French skills have deteriorated without the French speaking environment. I am hoping this Living Language French 2014 Daily Phrase & Culture Calendar would refresh my memory with new phrases every day and I am making a commitment to stick to it every single day.

Holiday in Boston

Boston is a city that I have visited countless times for one business or another. Between Christmas and the new year, I made another trip to Boston to experience the city as a tourist again.

First stop is lunch in the Quincy Market. We settled on hot clam chowder from the Boston & Maine Fish Company, a BBQ chicken panini from the West End Strollers (see photo below on the right), and a passion papaya smoothie from the Monkey Bar. It was difficult to find seats in the food hall during peak meal hours, so we ended up eating at a standing booth. All three items were delicious!

Happy New Year Giveaway! [Closed]

Happy new year and welcome to 2014! I tend to stay away from new year resolutions, but this year, I am making a commitment to not buy any more body washes until I finish my stock. If you read the last bit of my 2013 Beauty Favorites, you would agree with the necessity of this shopping ban. Anyways, let's move on to the giveaway!

Congratulations Cynthy! See her post Here!
