DIY: Mail Time

I just packed up the contents of my 6-Months Giveaway and I want to share an idea for re-using tissue boxes! While I usually don't have shipping boxes lying around the house, empty tissue boxes are in abundance.

Start with an empty box and draw a line dividing the sides into two
Use a craft blade or scissors to cut the box down the middle. Tape the free edges and the box lid
Pack the goodies with bubble wrap and tape close the box
Wrap the box gift-wrap style and add To/From...

All done! The box is reinforced with two layers of cardboard for extra support. I deconstructed a large envelope to make the wrapping paper. If you don't keep a stock of mail envelopes like I do, you could also reuse paper shopping bags to be extra environmentally friendly.

Hopefully the box arrives safely to the giveaway winner. If you would like to be entered into the draw, Enter Here before 11:59 PM (GMT) on May 25th, 2013!

Do you have any tips for re-using empty containers around the house?

  1. This is such a good idea! And all this time I've only been re-purposing empty tissue boxes to hold receipts and bills!
I usually re-use mail boxes I get from small online orders but if/when I run out, now I know I can make my own!

    1. I use the empty boxes to keep receipts before I shred them. Re-use and recycle is the way to go!
